Tried and True Mommy Tips (Spaghetti Edition)

#746:  Put soup in a sippy cup or a bowl with a straw. I mean, you've been telling then to keep the straw in their cup for how long? They'll think you are so cool!

#747:  Take assistance from friendly strangers when offered.  Baby in my Mei Tai wrap, an armful of boxes, and a 3-year-old in tow... in a Post Office with a long line of people mailing their Christmas gifts. I was in a good mood this particular day, so I was more than willing to deal with the wait.  An elderly couple at the front of the line kept, "Hey! Hey"-ing and signalling me to cut them in line.  I was shocked and pridefully felt that this wasn't necessary.  Once everyone else in the line heard them, there was a chorus of voices pushing me to line-jump.  As much as I wanted to say that I was tough enough to wait in line with the rest of them... I tell ya what... Not only did it make things easier, it also put a little extra sunshine in a crazy busy day.

#748:  I dread feeding my boys messy meals like spaghetti.  Not only do I have to throw them in the bathtub right after, I practically have to get out the mop and bucket and an assortment of scrubbies for my dining room.  I just recently discovered (in a "forget it, I'll deal with it later" moment), that if you leave the mess for an hour or two, the spaghetti and sauce dry, and all you have to do is sweep it right up!  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

#749:  Tissue boxes (full ones) will occupy small children for a long time :)
