I hate using flash, and I avoid it at all costs. The annoying black shadow on the wall behind a person's neck, making them look like they have long hair... the shiny noses and foreheads... and if you actually get your kids to look at the camera, their eyes are red.
A lot of my pictures have a lot of noise (high ISO), but I don't care. I get the shot that I want with natural colors. (One of these days, maybe I'll get a basic speedlight and learn how to use it... we'll see). Half of these pictures were taken indoors in really low light, and I'm really happy that I could still capture their excitement.
A month ago (yes, these pictures are that old), we went to the zoo with some friends of ours during Boo at the Zoo. I love watching Lucas (and more and more, Jackson) experience the world around him. Sharks? Bears? Up close?!
Before the Trick-or-Treating area of the zoo, there was a cool kid's obstacle course (which we all know Lucas loves...).
These last two photos courtesy of my friend Krista, who happened to steal my camera ;) |

How fun! Awesome shots!
ReplyDeleteThe boys looked amazed! I'd say they had a blast!
ReplyDeleteThe zoo is one of our favorite places to visit...especially since ours is free in St. Louis!

Your boys are adorable!
I love that first photo - it took me a minute to figure out that is was a shark down there! Love visits to the zoo!
