Several things I have learned in my adult life...

1. When you are saving for a new car...

• The heater in your drafty 110-year-old house will stop working
• The breaks on your current car will need replaced.

2. Your car key fob battery dies...

• Your garage door opener will stop working the same day
• Several days later, you will find that the key fob itself is broken (the battery is fine; ...let's add this to example #1, see above) 

3. You pack a random change of clothes in the diaper bag. Your child will need that change of clothes while you're out... and then he will pee through them.
