Wrapping Presents with Brown Paper

I get really bored with wrapping paper.  I've tried making various bows and wrapping the ribbon in different directions.  I've tried dangling charms from the bows.

About a month ago, I was walking through the Dollar Store, and I found rolls of plain brown wrapping paper.  Currently, I have wrapped 11 gifts (half of them pretty decently sized) using one of the rolls, and I still have about half of that roll left.

With this last round of gifts that I wrapped, I used old scrapbook paper for decoration.  Colorful twine or yarn would have been simple, but cute, too.

To stick with the simple brown paper theme, I drew the "labels" on.  What do you think?  What unique wrapping idea do you use?

  1. These look great! I have dreams of brown paper but haven't found it cheap enough. Next year I'll check the dollar store!

  2. Love this idea. Thrifty and a great way to be creative and spruce it up to make it all your own.

  4. I like how you decorated them with Scrapbook paper - they turned out so cute! I didn't event think of that. We did brown paper wrapping this year too and painted the first letter of each recipient on the present - plus I added some glitter, because everything can use some bling, right? I got the idea on Pinterest and it turned out pretty cute!
